A Little Shop for Debbie

Debbie asked me to make a little shop for her and this is the result. In 1/12th scale and similar in style and size to the shops I made for Paula this will sit happily on a shelf. There is something very satisfying in making these smaller properties - a bit like building in 1/24th scale where the end product is easy to pick up and tuck under your arm!

1/12th Scale 'Harbourside'

This is a slightly different version of my popular 1/12th scale 'Harbourside' cottage. Just completed for my friend Carol this house has an opening stable door on the ground floor and then inside I have added an extra mezzanine floor (as Paula did in her Barnacle Cottage) to create additional bedroom space. I think Carol wants to use the ground floor for a shop so she asked for a larger window beside the door. Sam likes the look of this property, especially with it having the yard to one side - sorry's already spoken for!!!

An Even Smaller Slice of a Shop!!

Paula emailed to say that she had created a tiny space in Quayside and the people of the town were in desperate need of a fish and chip shop - this little shop front is the result. Just big enough for a nice display in the window and a lovely sign across the front. Just goes to prove there is always that little bit of space left for a new dolls house!!!

Sea Thistle Cottage now on Ebay!

Sam finally decided not to buy Sea Thistle - he wants to wait for a property with a mooring for his boat alongside - so this lovely little cottage is now available for sale on under my seller name juliefben. Please take a look!

1/12th Scale 'Sea Thistle Cottage'

Sam thinks he may at last have found the cottage he has been looking for! A new property on the market, Sea Thistle Cottage has all the things he would like in a new home - a handy stable door, opening windows, an inglenook fireplace, interesting detailing in the brickwork over the windows and door, a window with a view out the back of the cottage....What more could he want? Better put an offer in quick then before Miss Marple gets wind of this little gem!

1/12th Scale 'Fisherman's Rest'

This is 'Fisherman's Rest', my latest 1/12th scale cottage, built as a special order for a friend who is going to give this to her mother-in-law as a birthday present. The outside space is going to house a chicken coop and a potting bench (must get started on the chicken coop - a new venture for me!) Apologies for the slightly gloomy photos. I dashed out between showers to take them and the garden was a bit dark and damp.

The Priory in 1/12th Scale

After building The Priory in 1/24th scale I was asked to make one in 1/12th scale and here it is. It is just the same as it's little brother ..just bigger! It's nice to have a change from my seaside cottages which are all nice and bright and clean in appearance. I find it hard to do 'grungy' when it comes to paintwork but it's good fun and a great way to try out new techniques I haven't used before.
