Something a Little Bit Different......
Tudor isn't my usual building style at all but I have enjoyed restoring/rebuilding this Greenleaf 'Glencroft' dolls house. In need of a new forever home this 1/12th scale house has had several owners over the years and just recently it came back to me ( I was it's second owner I think a few years ago). Bought for a friend of mine many years ago as a kit it was partially built before being forgotten and left in the shed. I then took it on and built a bit more before losing interest and selling it on. It then came up for a sale again just after Christmas and I decided that it needed finishing at last - and here it is. Anyone who has built a Greenleaf house before will tell you they are not easy - beautiful yes but easy - no. And of course being American it was rear opening. Always keen for a challenge I decided to make it front opening so I had to chop off the very well glued in place front and make it free standing. So here it is finished at long last. Front opening and with four spacious rooms inside. It is a beautiful cottage just crying out for roses round the door and window boxes full of flowers. I hope someone can find the space for it in their collection!
Wow! Front opening! Very nice work! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's very beautiful, Julie!

The Tudor house is lovely. I'm sure someone will find space in their collection.
ReplyDeleteWell done! Its one of my favourite looking kit houses but have never been keen on back opening. I can't imagine this beauty will be ownerless for long. :)
ReplyDeleteA great house!
ReplyDeleteI love how you made this house front-opening. I have built and decorated one myself and you're right - they're not easy! Lovely work!
