1/24th Scale 'Anchor Cottage'
This is 'Anchor Cottage' which was completed just last night. Another little 24th scale property - ideal for those collectors who are running out of space!
1/24th Scale French Style Shop
This is a little 24th scale French style shop completed just before Christmas. It is all handmade - the only bought item was the doorknob on the shop door and the hinges for the opening front! I chose pretty wallpapers for the inside. It would make a lovely flower shop and being such a nice size it will fit anywhere.
1/24th Scale 'Sea View'
This is 'Sea View', a 24th scale cottage built a few weeks ago. I decided to wallpaper this one rather than plastering and painting the internal walls. I like the effect of using two papers of a similar pattern but different colours.
1/12th Scale 'Rose Cottage'
'Rose Cottage' started life like Mead Cottage as a two sided diorama/room box bought on ebay. I added walls, the upper floor, roof and front and then had fun decorating the little house it became.
1/12th Scale 'The Laurels'
I have been a little bit lazy recently and haven't been updating my blog as often as I should. This is 'The Laurels', a small 1/12th scale house I built a few weeks ago. The windows were handmade by John at J&A Supplies and they are so pretty - very fitting for a country cottage.

1/12th Scale 'October Cottage'
I've just realised that I haven't shown you 'October Cottage'. I built this ages ago and it is now in its new home in Northern Ireland. A simple one up and one down cottage ideal for a seaside hideaway - we can still think about the seaside and holidays even in the middle of winter!
Two 1/12th Scale Seaside Cottages
I was asked to build two 1/12th scale cottages to stand alongside each other. They were going to join two more of my cottages in Northern Ireland and this pair were designed to fit on a table of a certain size. I like the soft green and lavender together - very restful.
1/12th Scale 'November Cottage'
This is another little 'tatty' cottage like Pumpkin. Great for a witch to call home. Or for a fisherman needing a little place to store and repair his fishing nets. Won't take up too much space and full of character!

1/12th Scale 'Mead Cottage'
I bought a little room box (more of a diorama really) on ebay a few weeks ago. I loved it - it had so much character - but being a builder and not able to leave things alone I felt it really did need some proper walls and a ceiling. I chopped up some plywood and made new walls, added beams with a floor on top to create an upper room and Mead Cottage is the result. Organic architecture in action! I tried to keep the style the same as the original room box so its looks well lived in. The plaster outside is a bit stained and has some greenery growing and the roof is wobbly and bent. I added lights and a lit fire in the fireplace and it looks so cosy - I could just move in! This was a project which really was fun to do - you get them like that sometimes - and I was almost sad to complete it. It is now on ebay so please go and take a look. Oh and the slate name plate was made by Brenda Howden. If you would like something similar making for your house please get in touch and I will pass on her details.
1/12th Scale Dutch Style Shop
After my recent trip to Holland (and the wonderful Appeldoorn Dolls House Fair!!) I just had to try my hand at a Dutch style dolls house. This little shop is just a taster really - I have plans for bigger Dutch style houses in the future. I loved the architecture in Amsterdam - such a beautiful city - and I came away with lots of ideas.

1/24th Scale 'The Manor House'
I bought the shell of a 1/24th scale house on ebay a few weeks ago. I made a new front for it then did some decorating. I haven't papered a tiny house for quite a while and it made a nice change from my usual plastering (although it was a bit fiddly in places!) The Manor House is the result. This is now for sale on ebay if you would like to take a look.

Time for Something a Little Bit Different.....'Pumpkin Cottage'
This is 'Pumpkin Cottage', a 1/12th scale one room cottage just completed. I had such a lot of fun building this little house. It all started with the window - I bought it ages ago at a fair and when I came across it a couple of weeks ago (down the back of the computer of all places!) the idea of an old dirty cottage came to mind. I kept the cottage small so it could easily be stored away if it was to be used just as a Halloween display piece. I think it would look wonderful with some lights and a flickering stove in the corner and your homeless witch would be very happy to move in here! For sale on ebay right now.
1/12th Scale 'Beech Cottage'
This is 'Beech Cottage', a 1/12th scale house built for a customer. It has one large ground floor room and two rooms upstairs. I love that little window in the door!

1/24th Scale 'Apple Tree Cottage'
I bought a set of 24th scale windows from Malcolm's Miniatures recently and used them in this little farmhouse cottage - they are very finely detailed and very good to work with. This cottage could just as easily be at the seaside - the choice is yours!
1/12th Scale Two Storey 'Shabby Chic' Shop

1/12th Scale Shabby Chic Shop
I bought a couple of shop fronts at a fair recently and this is what I have done with the first one. The fronts were made by Tollgate Miniatures so they are built from beautiful quality plywood. I have added a plywood box to create a nice shop space and this is the result. A handy size for putting on a shelf or on a windowsill to display your favourite shabby chic furniture!

1/12th Scale 'Sea View'
I know it's not really holiday time now but this little seaside cottage might just help brighten your winter days. I've called it a cottage but it could easily be used as a shop of some kind. The bay window is perfect for displaying items and the large room inside lends itself to may retail uses - a pottery shop perhaps selling all that lovely blue and white Cornish pottery?

1/12th Scale 'Shabby Chic Shop'
I thought it was time for some pink again so I made this little 1/12th scale 'shabby chic' shop. A great size if you are short of space - this little shop will sit quite easily on a shelf out of the way. The bay window allows for plenty of stock to be displayed. Ideal for showing off all your favourite 1/12th scale items!
1/12th Scale Beach Hut
Yes, I know it's nearly the end of the summer and autumn is approaching quickly but I just had to build one more beach hut. I love beach huts and I thought this 1/12th scale version might brighten the cooler days ahead.
1/24th Scale 'Lavender Cottage'
Although I've called this little 24th scale house 'Lavender Cottage' I really thought it could be used as a shop more than a cottage. That nice big bay window is just calling out for lots of pretty things to display to attract passing customers!

1/12th Scale 'Wisteria Cottage'
I've fallen way behind with my blog posts - I think our recent holiday left me so relaxed I just can't get back in a routine again! This is Wisteria Cottage. A simple one roomed 1/12th scale cottage with an attic bedroom above - ideal as a holiday home by the sea or a perfect base for the fisherman when not out on his boat.

1/24th Scale 'Fisherman's Rest' Cottage
I know I've mentioned before how much I love building in 1/24th scale. It's very satisfying to make a little house which you can pick up with one hand and move around with no trouble at all. This tiny one roomed cottage sold on ebay yesterday. I have a 1/24th scale shop almost completed and I've just ordered some new windows and doors for a four roomed house. After reading the latest issue of 'Dolls House and Miniature Scene' I am almost tempted to try 1/48th scale but I think that might be just a bit too tiny for me!

1/12th Scale 'Village Shop'
I bought an old dolls house shop box at a fair recently and thought it could do with an upper storey adding - this is the result. A nice simple shop with lots of floor space and a wonderful big window for displaying stock (and the window above opens - a real rarity these days!) This is on ebay right now so please take a look!

1/12th Scale 'Oystershell Cottage'
Poor Sam. He's been looking for a house for so long now and never seems to be able to find just the right property. He heard that 'Oystershell Cottage' was up for sale so decided to have a quick look round. There isn't any outside storage for his boat and fishing equipment but I know he likes that clapboarding on the front - it reminds him of his childhood days spent in Kent. Maybe this could be the house for him! He'd better be quick though as the cottage is on ebay right now and might get snapped up at any moment!

A 1/12th Scale Seaside Cottage for my Mum
My Mum (who is 93 years old) decided a little while ago that she would like one of my seaside cottages. I have built her one of my simple one up and one down houses - she doesn't have the space for anything bigger) - and we will be delivering it this weekend when we go and visit her. I've added a few pieces of furniture to get her started but those bare windows could really do with some curtains. I will have to see if I can make some before Sunday!

A 1/12th Scale Cottage for Quayside
This 1/12th scale cottage with it's cheerful pink front door is headed for Quayside. Paula had just a little space left - just enough for a small house where it can sit alongside two other properties with pretty pastel paintwork.
1/12th Scale Garage/Boatshed
This 1/12th scale garage was a special order for Paula to add to her Quayside village by the sea. She felt the village occupants had nowhere to take their cars and motorbikes when they needed repairing so this little building will become home to the new business.

Just What Every Village Should Have.........
Just what every village needs - public toilets! These 1/12th scale conveniences are destined for Paula's Quayside village by the sea. Hope they keep them nice and clean!
1/12th Scale French Style Antique Shop
I thought this 1/12th scale French style shop would be great for selling antiques but as always the choice is yours! It could become an art gallery because there is a tiny attic at the top of the building where the starving artist could work!

1/12th Scale Shabby Chic Shop
The weather was just too bad on Sunday to take photos outside so I had to make do with some inside shots of my new little shop. This would make a great shabby chic retail business or perhaps it could be a shop selling exclusive soaps. With the lovely arched window and the glazed door it is nice and bright inside and the customers will have a good view of all the goodies on sale!
1/12th Scale 'Boatyard Cottage'
This is 'Boatyard Cottage', a new 1/12th scale seaside property just completed. Great as a holiday hideaway or a home for a fisherman when he isn't out at sea. The little scullery at the side adds useful space downstairs and could be used as a kitchen, workshop, studio or simply a toilet.

1/12th Scale 'Sea View'
This is 'Sea View" a just completed 1/12th scale seaside cottage built for a customer who saw my earlier versions of this house on my blog and wanted one for herself. Hope you can see our new seat and arbour in the background - my husband put it up last weekend and it's a lovely spot to sit and read in the shade. Not that it's been fit to do that this week!!

1/12th Scale 'The Sail Loft'
Here is 'The Sail Loft', a recently completed 1/12th scale seaside cottage, ideal as a home for a fisherman or as a lovely bijou holiday let for romantic weekends by the sea.
