Remember - Crocus Cottage Giveaway Ends Tomorrow!!!

Just a quick reminder that my giveaway for Crocus Cottage ends tomorrow 1st March so if you haven't already signed up to follow my blog and left a comment you still have time!
The fair at Northwich last Saturday was not a great success I'm afraid. There were plenty of people through the door but nobody was spending very much. All the traders said the same thing. Still, it was a nice day chatting to people and the best bit was finally meeting up with Julie Lawton and her lovely family. It was wonderful to be able to put a face to the name at last and she was just so nice to chat to. It made my day!
If you are interested in any of the houses I took with me to the fair (The Old Watch House, The Sail Loft and Parsley Cottage), they are all on ebay right now (my seller name is juliefben). Take a look!

'The Old Watch House', 'The Sail Loft' and 'Parsley Cottage'

Here are three new houses ready to take to the dolls house fair in Northwich tomorrow. It was a bit of a last minute decision to do the fair so I have spent the past couple of weeks trying to get these houses completed in time. The Old Watch House is 1/12th scale and is based on a cottage in Parkgate, a local village famous for its ice cream shop. The Sail Loft is again 1/12th scale and Parsley Cottage is 1/24th scale, based on a cottage in another local pretty village called Shotwick. I see all these lovely houses when I'm out walking the dog and I get home full of ideas and I just have to build them!

Giveaway Again!

Forgot to say in my last post - the giveaway closing date is March 1st so you have plenty of time to enter.

1/24th Scale 'Crocus Cottage' Giveaway

Just finished and hot off the workbench here is 1/24th scale Crocus Cottage, my giveaway to celebrate passing 100 followers. It's a sweet little house with just one spacious room, complete with a 12v light fitting (which has a battery connection at the back), waxed wooden floorboards and space for a cooking range.  It measures 9 inches high, 8 inches wide and 7 inches deep so it will sit quite happily on a bookshelf and won't take up a lot of space. If you would like to enter the giveaway please become a follower of my blog and leave a message at the end of this post. If you could add my giveaway to your own blog in some way (I haven't worked out how to do that yet myself!) then that would be great. Hope you like Crocus Cottage!

1/12th Scale Chandlers' Shop - and 101 Followers!!!!

This is my latest 1/12th scale dolls house/shop just listed on ebay and waiting for new owners to move in. I was thinking of a chandlers' shop when I started to build it. Lots of possibilities for coils of rope, interesting brass things etc but it could just as easily become a flower shop or better still an art gallery like they have in St. Ives.
And I've just noticed my followers have passed 100 in number - must be time for a giveaway! I am busy making a tiny 1/24th scale cottage for my giveaway - a very simple one room design - and hope to have it ready sometime this next week. Keep an eye on my blog posts and thank you to all my followers for your comments on my cottages and for taking the time to read about the houses I make.

A Second 'Slice' of a House

Paula had just a tiny space left in her Quayside village - just enough to squeeze in a second 'slice' of house/shop like the first one I made for her. The front window is nice and big for displaying lots of goodies and the decorative door upstairs adds that little extra something. Just shows you don't need a lot of room to enjoy a dolls house!

1/12th Scale 'Cove Cottage'

I braved the sub-zero temperatures this morning to take some quick photos of my latest 1/12th scale house 'Cove Cottage'. Let's all think of summer holidays by the sea, warm sunshine and ice cream - I hope this little house takes you straight to your favourite seaside village.

Wednesday 1 February 2012

This is 'Wild Bird Cottage', made specially for Vicky as a present for her Mum. Vicky saw one of my recent houses - Cobble Cottage - and asked if I could build something similar but with extra windows to one side and in blue rather than grey. This is the Duck Egg Blue once again - I keep buying it whenever I see it in B&Q - hope they never discontinue this colour!!
